Dennis over at WAP Review has just put together a list of his most used apps for his trial E6.

He says that while there aren't as many apps for Symbian as other platforms, he can still find everything he needs from the Ovi Store. Image courtesy of My Nokia Blog His list is quite interesting as it includes apps that you hear about every day, like Gravity and Opera Mini, as well as ones you might not know much about such as SiC! FTP and Y-Browser. Each app is given a quick overview with Dennis explaining why they are useful to him. [...]

Are smartphones making us smarter?

There is no question that the internet changed the way we learn.

We no longer had to be reliant on libraries full of books to research a topic. We didn’t have to be confined to the physical classroom, when the classroom could come to whatever room we chose to be in. Mobile has now taken all of the internet’s power and put it in your pocket. And that means we can find, share, discuss, create and edit anywhere. Students today are digital natives who don’t think twice about using technology to learn. [...]

Following yesterday’s post from Stephen Fenech’s time with a Ferrari, his Two Blogs Talking Tech buddy Trevor reports back from Your Tech Life on his #NokiaNav experience…

.. Like Stephen, Trevor was also incredibly surprised to discover a brand new #NokiaNav Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible waiting for him, as well as being rather relieved that he didn't have to get the train back home! A C7 and the latest in-car Nokia tech was also waiting for him, with Trevor using his new toys to fulfill a variety of challenges during the week - from the simple task of "enjoying" it, to some more elaborate ones later on. 15:59 pm

As you may have seen TomH mention already, the high-octane #NokiaNav event has been taking place in Sydney, Australia over the past few days.

Adrian at My Nokia E7 has noticed it all going down (under), suggesting that it might just be one of the best Nokia events he has seen so far... Unfortunately for Adrian, he's a little too far away from it all in the city of Perth, but even so, it's not stopped his imagination. In a post that's aptly entitled 'You'll Wish You Never Saw This Video', Adrian recounts the moment he first heard about #NokiaNav. [...]

So, the last couple of days have been packed with Ovi-related news from Nokia World – Have you been keeping track of all the chatter?

Which flows nicely into the launch of the new Ovi Maps version 3.06 beta, which is fully supported by the new S^3 social networking features. Matthew at Nokia Experts caught the announcement of the new version and seems impressed with the check-in, public transport maps, and all of the other new features – although Matthew has an N97 mini to test it out on, he can’t wait to use it on a brand new N8. Vaibhav at The Handheld Blog has returned from a pre-Nokia World night out with the Ovi team in London, and has very kindly posted a roundup of the evening’s festivities before heading off for a busy day at Nokia World.

Aside from taking a closer look at the N8, Vaibhav had the chance to sit in on some interviews, demos and take part in conversations around various Ovi services. Fortunately he’s taken some great photos of the event, so head on over for a clear idea on what a night in a London pub with the Ovi guys is like! Have you been following Nokia World 2010 today?

There’s only four teams left in the FIBA World Championships – and our experts reckon the vociferous support of the Turkish and Lithuanian fans reckon could be enough to tip the balance into their favour.

These well-supported teams will come up against dark horses Serbia and, of course, the mega force of the USA. All in all, the competition is certainly hotting up! What’s also coming to a climax is our #OviFIBA competition… there’s just 3 questions to go. To have a chance of getting your hands on the Ovi goodies and Nokia tech, check out the FIBA bball app from the Ovi store. It’s a free download, and don’t worry if you’ve missed a few questions up until now, as every question is posted in the app. [...]

As you probably know by now, WOMWorld/Nokia is living it up out in Turkey right now for the FIBA World Basketball Championships.

We'll level with you... our knowledge of basketball before the tournament was a tad patchy, so we brought a few basketball loving pals out with us. They are: Mark at A Stern Warning Marcus at Vampyr.se Pinar at Pinar Ilik Yesterday we filmed a quick video outside the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul where the bigs games are happening to get some of their thoughts on how the tournament has gone so far – and also the Ovi BBall app that the guys are blogging on… Untitled from WOMWorld/Nokia on Vimeo.
