Nokia Night Time Photos

We want to see your best night time photos here at Nokia Connects.

It’s always tough getting that perfect photo when you have very little natural light entering your camera phone lens. While some experienced photographers light their surroundings or subjects using high end camera lights, we think you guys are talented enough to do it the natural way. Let's see who the real dark horses of the photography world are. We will make it a little easier for you by allowing the use of your camera flash, but use it wisely ;) Here are two great photos that encapsulate exactly what we are looking for: via Jamaalism with a Nokia N86 8mp w/Carl Zeiss lens via marioberzosa with a Nokia N8 Post the link to your image with a short description at Nokia Connects. Up bright and early this morning (and in Cannes it is bright!) for the judging of the Young Lions competition at the Cannes Lions festival.

And now, the results are in! There was a buzz in the air as the judges worked through all submitted videos, but in the end there could only be three prizes: gold, silver and bronze. Bronze when to Canada with their stop-motion animation of photos all taken on the N86, and silver to the USA Hispanic team with some shots taken on the streets of Cannes and a man drinking helium from a dolphin balloon (we'll let you see it as soon as we can get our hands on it!) And the Gold? Well that went to Korea. [...]

If you’ve been following our coverage of the Cannes Lions, Young Lions competition over the past couple of days, you’ve probably been wondering “Sounds intriguing, but where are these talented bunch and what did they think of the N86?!”

Well, now the competition is over (judging early tomorrow, we’ll be there to see what’s been achieved with Nokia’s 8MP marvel), the guys have come out of their creative sweat to give some thoughts on how they found the process, and @ernmander was there to catch it:

First, the team from Guatemala:

And the Puerto Ricans:

Check out Ernie’s Youtube for plenty more clips, and we’ll be bringing you the winners and how everyone got on in due course…

So, as you know, I’m out in Cannes at the Cannes Lions Festival along with @ernmander and @ruperthowe and we’re covering the Young Lions competition: 48 hours to create one ad on the Nokia N86.

The teams are currently editing together their work ahead of the deadline later today, but in the meantime we thought we'd ask how you might approach such a challenge: So, what's your take? Would you make the most of the small design of the N86 to put it in strange and amazing places? Would you take advantage of it being light, and attach it to a bag or person for the day? Then of course, there's all the video options within the camera. [...]

Hi all, RobbieD back on WOMWorld/Nokia after a bit of a leave of absence (well, Chris and Tom seem to have things in pretty safe hands!).

I'm currently out in Cannes for the Cannes Lions festival, where Nokia are sponsoring the Young Lions competition, a race between some of the world's top creative talent to produce an ad on... the Nokia N86. I'm out here with @ernmander and @ruperthowe and they're doing a great job of covering everything that's going on (as you can see below) And you can hear what they have to say here through the magic of Audio Boo! (videos battling through the upload process as we speak) Keep an eye here on WOM World/Nokia, (and of course @ernmander and @ruperthowe) for updates over the next couple of days. [...]

It’s the Cannes Lions festival right now, and we’ve sent some of our friends down to help.

Well, what better reason to go and spend a few days in the sun than to help some of the young up and coming talent in the advertising world create their masterpieces on N86s? Rupert Howe and ernmander will be imparting their wisdom to the youngsters, so stay tuned for more as the week progresses. Keep an eye on what's going on at the festival here.
