Last week we were shaken and stirred by the news that a new James Bond film will begin production this year.

Like most men, we’ve often wondered what it would be like to be the tuxedo clad secret agent. But as we read details of his new exploits, we realized that 007 has a lot more in common with our Nokia N8 than he does with us. It's practically invincible Think about it. James Bond has been in twenty odd films. He’s been shot at, thrown out of windows, bombed and tossed in pools full of crocodiles yet he’s still working as hard as ever. [...]

You don’t have to search very hard to find people arguing that the digital world promotes clicking, liking and following, but very little action.

Check out the Urban Dictionary and you’ll even find a name for this: slacktivism. You know what we mean… joining all those well-meaning Facebook groups and following charities’ twitter feeds without “actually expending effort to fix a problem”. Even if you buy into this argument (and there are plenty of reasons not to), then there is one type of digital technology that has already proven its worth in promoting positive social change. [...]

Ari Partinen is a design engineer at Nokia who recently participated in a photo shoot for the Nokia N8.

In this post, he explains how the team created a professional quality portrait picture without any image enhancing software. Over to you Ari! A few weeks back I had the opportunity to join the Nokia marketing team on a photo shoot using nothing but the new Nokia N8. For me this was a treat because I have worked with the device for the past two years, perfecting the image quality and field testing the device to its limits. [...]

When Nokia Push started out back in September 2009, we helped re-imagine skating, kite aerial photography, city guides and more, but even we couldn’t have imagined we’d be here a year later, telling you who we’ve partnered with.

In 2011, Nokia Push will be collaborating with the world’s biggest snowboarding company, Burton Snowboards, to create a new type of connected snowboarding. Work has already started between Nokia and Burton, and the collaboration will be run in the spirit of the Push project – transparently, with support from our awesome community. You’ll be able to get your first taste of the Nokia Push Burton at next year’s Burton Euro Open in January, followed by a beta launch at the US Open in March. [...]

There’s been lots of great stuff coming out of Nokia World 2010.

As well as all the new devices and Ovi improvements, we’ve also posted about an amazing new pair of Nokia Push videos on here – and the launch of a new Push competition. One of the new Nokia N8 Push videos had a boarding element to it, which as it turns out, was something of a hint as to another announcement that was made today. You might have heard by now that Nokia has linked up with snowboarding brand Burton on Push – and the fruits of this pair up are explained in the video below: Have you got any ideas for Nokia N8 Push yet? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter @Nseries. [...]

Earlier we gave you the first of three posts with answers to your unanswered questions from the N8 launch.

So without further ado, here’s part two! Tobypaw: Will it be possible to attach a USB-Stick to the N8? Nokia: With the Nokia N8, you can move large files conveniently with USB on-the-go to memory stick or compatible hard drive and further to PC, ready to upload into video sharing web services. If the hard drive needs more than 200mAh power, it needs to have an external power supply. Thaijoni: Will the N8 be totally lag free? Nokia: Performance is one of our design drivers and Symbian^3 with neat hardware engine is a key contributor to that. [...]

We had questions flying at us from all angles about the N8 when it first launched – and we really appreciated all the interest.

The only downside was that - due to the sheer volume of questions - we couldn’t answer all the questions on the day. We did, however, say that we’d look to answer them at a later date. Well, that day has now come. So without further ado, here’s the first in a series of posts with answers to your questions! The Prodigal Fool: Can you tell us how the virtual keyboard works in Symbian 3? Does it look like the one we're used to from Symbian 1? Nokia: The virtual keyboard layout has changed for some parts and we have predictive/corrective text input there as well. [...]
