Jay is a fine fellow.

A fine fellow indeed. Why? Because he's taken on a task that he hasn't abandoned within a couple of weeks (as some of us might). His Lumiappaday series has reached #27. That's 27 in-depth reviews, all of which involve testing, photographing and videoing. Dedication indeed. So what's he got to say about these apps? Well, skipping back a day, yesterday he took a look at Kinectimals (concentrating on the phone app - not the Xbox integration). [...]

Nokia Connects You #7

Dec

17:14 pm

It’s a design-led issue of Nokia Connects You this week and, with the myriad of Nokia Connects coverage focusing on the design themes within mobile technology, it’s time to throw the net out a bit farther and see what other design spectacles we can find out there in the big world wide web.

1. 'Sky Frames' First, to Singapore! Where this 'vertical city' building design really has begun to make waves with the locals - Collecting 231 apartments over 31-storeys, this stunning piece of structural design is the brainchild of Dutch architecture firm, UNStudio. The killer feature for us? Those openings at the bottom and mid-way up the building itself. Referred to as 'Sky Frames' these areas will apparently feature swimming pools, gardens and barbeque areas. What are concept phones and why we should care

Dec

11:55 am

But, have you ever wondered about the purpose of concept phones and why designers keep on creating them? What is concept design? To understand concept phones, we need to understand the principal behind concept design. Simply put, it’s an early phase of the design process, which explores wide-ranging design ideas, which although plausible, aren’t constrained by technology. [...]

Hot on the heels of his trip to New York City, happy snapper Richard recently took another trip with his trusty N8 (and his wife) to London.

As you might have come to expect from Richard, his photographs are stunning. Not only are they pretty to look at, but the photo set acts as a guide to London for any prospective tourists. We can picture some of you wandering round the streets getting a look in real life at what Richard has captured in his snaps :-) As well as the N8, Richard has been spending some time getting to grips with the Lumia 800's camera. As far as KA's thoughts on the design of the N9 go, the title of his post sums it up - 'Only design of its kind'. [...]

This year’s Nokia World was packed with memorable moments.

There was the launch of the Nokia Lumia 800 and 710, the unveiling of the Nokia Asha family of mobile phones as well as the demonstration of amazing concepts like the Nokia Kinetic. But one of our biggest highlights was the passionate presentation by Nokia Vice President, Blanca Juti. Not only did we get introduced to some fantastic new devices, but also it was the first time we’d ever seen anyone groovin’ at a mobile phone launch. [...]
