This morning during Stephen Elop’s keynote address at Nokia World, the new Nokia Lumia series was announced in the form of the Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710. These two phones are colourful and stylish, combining top hardware and software, which lets you stay in touch with what matters most to you. Let us take a look at the 800 for now and what it brings to the table, along with some feedback from excited people around the web.

Hardware & Features

The Nokia Lumia 800 features a smooth 1 piece body with a 3.7″ curved touchscreen display, weighing in at 142 grams. One thing worth noting about the body is the fact it’s one colour all the way through, so if you scratch it (heaven forbid!) you wont end up with ugly scars all over your phone. On the right edge you’ll find two volume keys, the power key and a dedicated camera button. The camera itself is 8megapixels with Carl Zeiss optics, duel LED flash, face detection and x3 digital zoom. Internally, it runs on a 1.4GHz processor supported by 512MB of RAM. Storage wise you get 16GB of mass memory with no room for an external micro SD card. Jump over for the full list of specifications.
A couple of words from Twitter so far… what are you thoughts on it? Do you agree with the following?
@sweetL80: Ok, yes… The Nokia Lumia 800 looks NICE.
@NischalShetty: The Nokia Lumia 800 looks pretty slick!
The 800 comes with new Nokia Maps integration along with Nokia Music, Nokia Drive and Nokia Pulse which we will go into more detail on in a later post.
Another app that comes pre-loaded onto the phone is the ESPN sports app which lets you check scores and statistics as well as interact with fantasy teams. You can also pin the app on your homescreen, increasing your experience with it, something that Arsenal fan Jubbin was please about:
@jubbing: I’m so PINNING #Arsenal with the Nokia ESPN app. #NokiaWorld
Software

I’m sure everyone by now knows that the software running on these new Nokia Lumia phones is Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. This stylish software brings a tiled format to the surface of your screen which is bold, pretty and has everything you need at your finger tips.
Here are a couple of videos that give you a quick peak at how the OS runs on the Nokia Lumia 800.

The guys from Mashable think it could be the best implementation of this OS to date, tweeting their review:

More on that in Christina Warren’s Hands-on post.
We’ll be posting more on the 800 and the unique experiences that come with it. What are your thoughts so far? We’d like to hear from you @Nokia_Connects!
